Many students (primary, middle, secondary, undergraduates and MBA students), teachers, and business people have a lot of material to review and summarise.

It is easy with Mind Maps – both Hand Drawn and computer generated Mind Maps using software such as iMindMap.

Once you have read the material and underlined key words/ key points you can then summarise and remember the information using a Mind Map.

You can also summarise vast amounts of information into your essay, or in this case a presentation.

Here is a Mind Map I created to give a 15 minute presentation on BioEthanol Fuel to show a group of senior managers how Mind Maps can make you more effective and efficient.

I chose BioEthanol Fuels as it was something I knew nothing about.

Step 1 – read through the material I downloaded from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethanol_fuel  (30 minutes)

29 Pages of interesting statistics and data on Bio Ethanol Fuels, underlining key words as I went.

Step 2 – Quickly reviewed the article while drawing a rough Mind Map on scrap A4 paper
(I was on a plane and no battery power) 30 minutes

Step 3 – Created a Mind Map I could print, share and present to my audience using iMindMap.  (30 Minutes)

2.2.2. Brazil -  6,922 million gallons – produced with  Sugar cane for over 30 years
2.3. Australia only 66 million gallons of biofuel – due to government 10% cap. Mostly available in Queensland (Qld) and New South Wales (NSW) where most of the sugar cane is grown in Australia (Tropical and Sub Tropical climates)

3.3. Buses – Sweden, Melbourne -Diesel principle

4. Sources of BioEthanol

4.2. Feedstock such as Sugar Cane, Corn, Potato Manioc
4.2.1. Sugar cane is the most efficient and reduces  Greenhouse emissions by 87-96%. Mostly used in Australia and Brazil
4.2.4. Corn -  Only 50% of the corn is actually used in manufacture of BioFuels – mostly used in United States. Corn is  6 times less efficient and costs 30% more to make. Greenhouse Emissions are only reduced by 10-20%
4.3. Celluiosic – Well to wheel
4.4. Algae
4.5. Synthetic Biofuels made from Ethene/ Ethylene

5. Production/ How are Bio Fuels make
5.1. Fermentation – Microbial
5.2. Water reduction through Distillation and Dehydration
5.3. Denaturing
5.4. Saccharification

6.1. Awareness of cars that are flex fuel capable
